The College of Engineering and Management, Kolaghat (CEMK) opened its new Astronomy Club on August 21, 2026. The college launched the club during its National Space Day event. This celebration helped students get excited about science and space travel.

Famous physicist Dr. Narayan Banerjee was the Chief Guest. He is an Emeritus Professor at IIEST. In his speech, Dr. Banerjee talked about great careers in space research. He said student clubs are important for training future scientists. He then officially declared the CEMK Astronomy Club open.
