Industrial Visit Report: DVC Substation, Kolaghat
1. Introduction & Objective On April 25, 2026, the Electrical Engineering Department organized an industrial tour to the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) Substation located in Kolaghat. The primary objective of this visit was to bridge the gap between abstract academic theory and practical industry standards. By stepping into a live, high-voltage operational environment, students were given a unique opportunity to map their classroom knowledge of power systems directly onto grid-scale infrastructure. 2. Technical Field Observations: The SwitchyardGuided by experienced DVC station engineers and departmental faculty, the delegation conducted a comprehensive inspection of the outdoor switchyard.
